Peter is hurt when Jesus asks him if he loves Him. And Jesus? He seems more concerned that Peter is loving people than how he feels in that moment, more concerned to invite Peter out of his old life again and back into the new normal for disciples. Perhaps there is a word here about how race is treated in the United States?
